Game of Thrones fans will be pleased to know that they can now bet on who will rule Westeros at the end of Season 7.
So who do you think will be reigning in Westeros at the end of the final season of Game of Thrones? Daenerys has always been favourite, and Season 6 closed with her setting sail for Westeros with armies and dragons.
1. Daenerys Targaryen 6/4
Runaway favourite is the last member of the house of Targaryen.
In Season 6 we saw her taking over the Dothraki and forming an alliance with the Ironborn. What’s more, she’s got those dragons on her side which dealt with the Dothraki guys who were giving her trouble.
You’d have to be pretty brave to bet against her, but we all know that there’s always a twist around the next corner, and a much-loved character about to be killed off in Game of Thrones.
2. Jon Snow 5/2
Which leads us to Jon Snow, who looked like he was done for at the end of Season 5.
He went from literally being dead to become the King in the North. That trajectory would place him pretty high up the pecking order for the throne.
The bad news is that he’s gone and upset Melisandre. She brought him back to life and could have been useful in Westeros but has been banished. Jon Snow might have made a powerful enemy there.
3. Cersei Lannister 11/4
Crowned Queen of the Seven Kingdoms at the end of Season 6, you have to say that Cersei Lannister is sitting pretty.
She’s a cunning operator as we saw in the way she dealt with that irritating High Sparrow character and the rest of the High Council.
She’s got a strong powerbase and no immediate rivals at Westeros, but with trouble on the way you wouldn’t put all your money on her retaining the throne come the end of the season.
4. Sansa Stark 11/4
Neck-and-neck with Cersei is Sansa, who had a satisfying if pretty gruesome moment in the “Battle of the Bastards”, when she got to see Ramsay Bolton eaten alive. That shows that she’s not someone you want to mess with.
She might have something up her sleeve judging by that knowing look between her and Littlefinger when Jon Snow was declared King in the North.
5. Tyrion Lannister 6/1
Poor Tyrion has been sidelined a little after fleeing Westeros in Season 4. But after gaining Daenerys’ favour he has been named Hand of the Queen and is on his way back with her and the dragons.
No stranger to machinations, we’re wondering whether Tyrion might have an iron in the fire.
Who Will Win the Game of Thrones?
So that’s our top five, but the scheming Littlefinger is at 9/1 and Arya Stark is also on the warpath at 12/1. We’ve got a few front-runners, but knowing this show, there’s no telling who will rule Westeros.
This market will be wide open until the season finale on 21st June 2017.
